Best time to visit: May-October

Go for this:
Santorini, for the amazing sunset views from the cliff settlements overlooking the Caldera; for its rich wine heritage and unique wine varieties; and for swimming in deep blue waters.

But try this:
Paros (it’s like Mykonos 20 years ago), where you can explore the Cycladic landscape by hiking or mountain biking, go windsurfing at the famous Golden Beach, and admire traditional Cycladic architecture. Its archeological museum is worth a visit.

Favorite hotel:
Canaves Oia Boutique Hotel. Built on the side of a cliff overlooking the Santorini Caldera, it’s the perfect hideaway for romantic couples and newlyweds, mixing traditional Cycladic architecture with contemporary furnishings. For families, we recommend the Canaves Oia Epitome, an all-villa luxury resort just outside the main town, where privacy, style and calm are the order of the day.

Favorite guest experience:
Private day cruise to Folegandros, also called the “Island of Peace” because of its unpretentious and relaxed atmosphere. Swim in emerald waters, snorkel in the caves of the island, visit beaches that are only accessible by boat, wander around the narrow streets of Chora (the main town), or simply lounge in your private yacht and enjoy the sun.

Favorite restaurant:
Aktaion (Santorini). A staple on the island since 1922, this is a quaint spot to try traditional dishes such as fava with capers, mackerel fritters and white eggplant pie.

Foods:

- Tomatokeftedes (tomato fritters)
- Roasted Greek lamb
- Keftes (fried meatballs)
- Graviera Naxou cheese on Naxos
- Cherry tomatoes, fava and eggplant on Santorini

Wine:

- Assyrtiko
- Aidani
- Athiri
